Starting Friday, June 12, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., the EContemporary gallery in Trieste will open “Rivelazione Silenziosa”, a solo exhibition by ARKEO, an Italian sculptor currently exhibiting a work at the Guatemalan Pavilion during the 61st Venice Biennale.
ARKEO turned to sculpture over a decade ago, as the result of a creative calling that matured over time and was fueled by a layered perspective, both conceptual and archaic. This dual tension runs through his entire body of work, translating into pieces that seem to belong to a suspended dimension, outside of linear time. In a context dominated by appearances and overexposure, ARKEO’s anonymity emerges as a deliberate act of subtraction: the artist steps back to make space at the work, entrusting the sculpture with the ability to establish a direct, essential, and unmediated dialogue. His creations arise from the assembly of found objects and recycled materials—fragments of reality recovered and recomposed according to a formal language of intense symbolic power. In this process, the material is transformed: it loses its original function and takes on new resonances, becoming a vehicle for a narrative that oscillates between memory and vision. ARKEO’s sculptures emanate a magnetic quality: they capture the gaze and then lead it beyond the surface, toward a deeper, almost initiatory dimension. They are enigmatic presences, born of dreamlike imagery, that emerge like artifacts from an archaic imagination that is simultaneously projected into the future. As art critic Giada Gasparotti observes, ARKEO’s universe is “rich in references and suggestions” and expresses itself through a distinctive language that takes shape in anthropomorphic figures, often traversed by an evocative light, a symbol of revelation and discovery. His mask-like faces—a hallmark of his artistic vision—conceal and simultaneously reveal specific identities: they are presences that inhabit this silent theater, suspended between mystery and narrative. ARKEO thus emerges as a contemporary demiurge, capable of shaping fragments of reality to generate new archetypes. “Rivelazione Silenziosa” is, ultimately, an invitation to slow down and listen to what does not impose itself, but rather reveals itself gradually. In this space of suspension, the artistic experience becomes an inner one, and matter—freed from noise—speaks once more.
The exhibition remains open until Saturday, August 1, 2026
Arkeo is a sculptor whose works are born from forgotten materials, tools worn down by time, and fragments of lost stories that are transformed into luminous creatures—archetypal beings that seem to emerge from a remote and silent otherworld. His exhibition career began in 2015 with the ARKEO Industriale project, which later evolved into ARKEO Arte. In 2019, at the art competition dedicated to Margherita Hack at the Milano Art Gallery, he won the “Critics’ Award” awarded by curator Vittorio Sgarbi. In October 2025 in Rome, he won First Prize at the 2025 International Expo of the Amedeo Modigliani Foundation. In 2026, he participates with the monumental sculpture “Dama de las Identidades” in the Guatemala Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale of Art 2026. He has been exhibiting regularly for about a decade both in Italy and abroad, and his works are included in numerous private collections.
