The Bianco Contemporaneo gallery was born from the natural evolution of a project conceived in 2005 by Rossella Alessandrucci as a personal workshop/atelier in Rome's Pigneto neighborhood. In 2009, it transformed into a site-specific research gallery, inviting young emerging artists to engage with the space provided: a white cube, hence the name "Whitecubealpigneto." Subsequently, in 2013, with the aim of expanding its concept of hospitality and territoriality, it also utilized other spaces to organize exhibitions and events, including international ones, and changed its name to "LaStellinaArteContemporanea," in keeping with the artistic association "La Stellina," which supports it, led by Rossella Alessandrucci and Antonio Martini.
In 2018, it opened a space in Rome's Coppedè district and took the name "Bianco Contemporaneo". This remains true to its initial spirit of experimentation and investigation of the artistic scene, broadening its focus to include historical contexts that have played important roles in the development of contemporary art. It also invites more established artists to participate, and is active with its own projects throughout the country.
