ENG_ Sunday 6th February 2022 appointment in Romberg with the personal exhibition of the Japanese artist Toru Hamada - Gianluca Marziani writes […] “The discipline of constant doubt” is the phrase that accompanies and encompasses the sense of Toru Hamada for visual art ... a beautiful example of a mental journey within the multiple natures of the outer world, where the artist is the symbolic traveller who faces the mysterious ocean, ever onwards towards the lights of the next lighthouse, towards islands on which to dock, towards natures to be discovered. Thus art becomes a vital oxygen: an inspiration with which to absorb elements of the world, an exhalation to restore the symbolic form that is the synthesis and metaphor of the world. […] "Chapter 1" is the first part of an exhibition project divided into two episodes. In this first exhibition we will present a cycle of works from 2017 which are as yet unpublished for the gallery. In the second part "Chapter 2" (scheduled for next season) the gallery will host a new project connected to the "discipline of constant doubt" which the artist Hamada is working on. Toru Hamada_ 1953, born in Matsuyama, Japan. Lives and works in Eure et Loire, France
