The ART MARGINEM CONCEPT ROOM Association presents SWINGING WITH LILITH, a solo exhibition of raku ceramics by Cinzia Fantozzi, curated by Luciano Bolzoni, scheduled for March 12–20, 2026, at Via Tobagi 13, Milan.
The exhibition is part of the cultural cycle I Giovedì d’Arte, an initiative promoted by Art Marginem to promote contemporary artistic research through exhibitions, meetings, and opportunities for dialogue between artists, the public, and the local community.
In Cinzia Fantozzi's works, raku ceramic becomes a place of transformation and a place to listen to the material. Fire, air, and sudden cooling affect the surface, creating cracks, glazes, and fumigations that are not simply technical effects, but traces of the very process that created the work. The artist embraces the unpredictability of the raku technique as an integral part of her work, allowing the material to actively participate in the final form.
Within this exploration, the theme of femininity, a frequent feature of her work, emerges forcefully. The figures and forms suggested by the sculptures evoke archetypal presences: everyday yet symbolic women, fragile and resilient, suspended between interiority and transformation.
The reference to Lilith, a mythical and rebellious figure of tradition, introduces a key interpretation that runs through the entire exhibition: Lilith as a symbol of autonomy, identity, and the tension between freedom and balance. The works thus seem to oscillate—as the title suggests—between stability and movement, between controlled form and natural force, between personal narrative and collective memory.
As Luciano Bolzoni writes in the introduction:
"Working with matter, the artist shapes the existing as if it were the very dimension of existence. But, it should be clarified immediately, he does not create superwomen or inspiring muses: his are women we can encounter every day, everywhere, at work, on the street, at home, or even on a vessel sailing an unknown sea."
The exhibition thus offers a journey through organic forms, feminine presences, and material tensions, in which each work preserves the memory of the fire that transformed it and invites the viewer to recognize, in the material, their own emotional geography.
