GEOGRAPHY OF SOULS

An Art Marginem event for the Contemporary Art Day

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, on the occasion of the 22nd Contemporary Art Day, Art Marginem opens its spaces at 13 Via Walter Tobagi, Milan, to the public. Alongside the exhibition, visitors will also be able to enter the artists’ studio, the place where works take shape through research, experimentation and everyday practice.

The event is GEOGRAPHY OF SOULS, an exhibition bringing together ten artists from the association — Francesco Biondo, Cinzia Fantozzi, Ruben Garzanti, Cinzia Giustizieri, Mariagrazia Giustizieri, Giuseppe Guerrera, Natalia Lubomirski, Chiara Pellegrini, Adriano Pompa and Vanessa Semaino — with two works by each artist.

Ten presences, twenty works, many possible directions.

The theme chosen this year by AMACI, “Geographies of Contemporaneity,” suggests a reflection that goes beyond the representation of territories and their borders. Geography can also become a map of different experiences, sensitivities and perspectives, taking shape through what each artist chooses to tell, question or leave open.

At Art Marginem, these differences coexist without being reduced to a common language. Different techniques, materials and personal paths come together to create a polycentric cartography, with no single centre and no prescribed direction.

It is in the encounter between these distances that the exhibition finds its meaning. Each work carries a story, a research process, a position. Placed alongside the others, it enters into a new relationship, made of unexpected affinities and contrasts, proximities and distances.

Opening the studio also offers visitors the opportunity to come closer to the artists’ work, discover the place where their pieces are created and glimpse something of the process behind them: experiments, intuitions and questions that are still open.

A day to look, meet and talk. And perhaps to discover how a geography of art can take shape through the relationships between people, works and individual paths.
