A weave of languages, visions, and sensibilities will give life to Animae Poetica, the solo exhibition of Giuseppina Irene Groccia, scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at the artistic-literary Vintage Café run by Ermelinda Pipieri in Corigliano Rossano, urban area Corigliano, via Provinciale 13/15. This project unites visual art and poetic writing, two expressions of the same inner exploration that, in the artist’s practice, meet and reflect each other in an intimate and continuous dialogue.

The exhibition presents around ten large-format works from the Emotive Art series, the outcome of Giuseppina Irene Groccia’s most recent research, known artistically as GiGro. In this series, the artist develops a language that, while rooted in painting, opens up to a conscious reworking through digital techniques, keeping color and expressive gesture central.

At the heart of the research is the portrait, understood as an emotional and psychological space. Female faces, suspended between figuration and abstraction, transform into narrative surfaces traversed by marks, words, and chromatic interferences, giving shape to an intense imaginary world capable of conveying the complexity of inner experience.

Color takes on a central and symbolic role, amplifying emotion and creating visual fields in resonance with the viewer’s gaze. The works thus present themselves as spaces of traversal, where personal and universal dimensions intertwine, inviting the observer to recognize themselves and dwell within the image as a site of perception and shared experience.

For this reason, the works lend themselves naturally to a dialogue with the verses of the same author, forming an intimate conversation between image and word.

The artworks will not simply be placed alongside the poems but will be connected through a careful system of correspondences. Each painting will find its voice in a coherent poetic text, creating a unified moment in which image and word amplify each other mutually.

This format, envisioned by the artist, is fully realized thanks to the poetic curation and coordination of Giuseppe De Rosis, a prominent figure in the cultural and literary scene of the region and a key participant in numerous major poetry events. With exceptional sensitivity, De Rosis constructs a coherent path linking the works and texts, while the ten carefully selected readers—Placido Bonifacio, Angela Campana, Franco Cirò, Maria Curatolo, Giacomo Lauricella, Giusy Liguori, Dora Mauro, Lella Persiani, Ermelinda Pipieri, Ida Proto—will guide the audience along this journey, giving voice to the words and enhancing the connection with the images.

Within this interplay of languages, the stage presence of the dress Galatea is also featured, inspired by Greek myths and the figure of the sea nymph, a symbol of purity and transformation. The name recalls the Greek term gala, “milk,” evoking the luminosity of the skin and the lightness of sea foam. Created by the Ruskia Association, the dress will be worn by a model and become an integral part of the evening’s narrative, helping to connect art, poetry, and reading in a single expressive flow. Veronica Martino, president of the association, will be present to testify to a work that unites craftsmanship and careful aesthetic research.

Musical interludes will be entrusted to the young saxophonist Antonio Scarpello, whose performance will help create an immersive and evocative atmosphere in harmony with the tone of the event.

The audience will be welcomed by Ermelinda Pipieri, host and soul of the Vintage Café, long a reference point for artistic and cultural expressions in the area. Attentive and sensitive in giving voice to emerging and established talents, she will also actively participate in the evening as a reader, combining her usual hospitality with an engaged presence.

Animae Poetica offers itself as a space of convergence, where distinct languages and sensibilities meet in an attempt to give form to inner life, presenting it as a relational experience.

At the end of the event, those wishing to extend the evening may remain on site by reservation at +39 338 110 5572.
