The exhibition “Light and Matter”, exclusively dedicated to mosaic, was ideated with the objective to rediscover, bringing to the attention of the visitors, mosaic art in all its forms, without neglecting the importance of the deep knowledge of the various techniques involved in their realization.
LIGHT and MATTER are distinct entities but intimately connected, two manifestations of the same energy. CREATIVITY IS THE LIGHT OF THOUGHT. It can be absorbed, reflected, transmitted and through the hands it creates and molds matter.
The millenary art of mosaics has crossed history, brought to us by knowledgeable hands. But mosaic is not only technique. It’s the harmonic union between creativity and know-how, and that’s why today we can talk of mosaic art. Even if based on ancient principles, it managed to evolve, renovate itself, bring freedom to the thoughts and still manages to bewitch us even after millennia. It has been scientifically proven that letting hands roam free brings wellbeing to whom it’s doing so. In the frenetic and stressful world of today, it can become therapy for the soul.
