Stefania Carraturo was born in Naples and spent her early childhood in Paris, a city with which she will always maintain a close bond, before settling permanently in Rome, her adopted city. She graduated in Modern Foreign Languages ​​and Literatures and dedicated herself to teaching French literature until a painful event led her to find a new expression in photography. She trained professionally at the IED, specializing in fashion and reportage, taking courses in street photography, portraiture, and lighting, and attending annual masterclasses in photojournalism and the modern languages ​​of documentary photography with internationally renowned photographers. She writes literary criticism for specialized magazines and loves painting and drawing.

She is a photojournalist for an online news magazine.

In May 2023, she became the official photographer for the Abracadown theater company, a project that features young people with Down syndrome as the protagonists of a magical musical.

Here Comes the Sun - a long-term social project, begun in December 2019 at "La Locanda dei Girasoli," a renowned Roman restaurant where young people with Down syndrome worked. This project has won several photography contests and been published in various specialized magazines. It has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Come una Favola - an ongoing long-term project born in 2023 from photographs of the young artists of Abracadown - the first Magic Musical in Italy - young people with Down syndrome whose great dream is to become famous.
