The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 28 January, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and will be structured around two main segments.
The event will open with a presentation by Patrizia Genovesi—photographer, filmmaker, and lecturer, as well as Vice President of AFIP International, the International Association of Professional Photographers—who will offer a systemic reading of the contemporary photography market. This market will be examined as a set of distinct segments—works, rights, and services—each characterized by different logics, actors, and metrics. Her talk will be supported by data, estimates, and case studies, with the aim of outlining an interpretative framework useful to professionals and observers in the field.
This will be followed by a roundtable discussion with guests from the worlds of cultural institutions, finance, and collecting, including Marco Delogu, President of Azienda Speciale Palaexpo in Rome; Marco Alberi, Senior Wealth Planner at Azimut Capital Management S.g.r.; and Davide Battaglia, Head of the Photography Department at Finarte. They will be invited to share perspectives, responsibilities, and functions related to their respective sectors. The discussion will focus on clarifying roles rather than seeking a unified vision, highlighting instead the value of multiple viewpoints.
The meeting is intended for professionals, scholars, institutional representatives, and stakeholders interested in understanding, through an analytical and non-ideological lens, the transformations currently underway in the contemporary photographic system.
