Presentation of the artist's book by Fabio Fornasari with poems by Laura Anfuso, on the occasion of the finissage of the exhibition ... even silence sings, the fifth stage of the Di-Versi Di-Segni review, curated by Laura Turco Liveri, with watercolors by Anna de Silva, Stefania Lorenzini, photographs by Iria Seta, on poems by Giuseppe Turco Liveri and original music by Marco Visconti. This is followed by a themed workshop held by Laura Anfuso.
From the book of poetry to the poetry of the book: if emotion translates into a mark, conversely, tactile signs form words, and poetic words expand mental spaces.
Laura Anfuso’s words seek not rhyme or assonance, but depth. They are words that ask to be heard, lingered over, and traversed within a delicate balance.
This book attempts to give them form in space.
The pages become petals: they open one after another, overlap, and drift apart, progressively transforming the book into a flower—and, simultaneously, into a crystalline geometry. The act of turning the pages does more than simply advance the reading; it constructs the very form of the book.
Five senses traverse it, giving substance to the words. On the petals, drawn lines meet the text without illustrating it; instead, they capture a resonance, an emotion, or a potential shape.
Petal by petal, word by word, what once lay flat on the page gains depth.
The book does not merely contain Laura’s words; as it opens, it seeks to make space for them.
