On Thursday, 22 October, from 7:00 pm, THE FLOOR – Modern Art Gallery presents an artistic and cultural event dedicated to women and to raising awareness of violence against women, marking the finissage of Paco Plutone’s solo exhibition, La pelle della luce.

The programme includes an artistic performance by Paco Plutone and a theatrical intervention by Marta Rivaroli, Federica Rolle and Ugo Trenta: “Io sono Beatrice” (“I Am Beatrice”), inspired by the figure of Beatrice Cenci. The evening will also feature Paolo Martellotti, curator of the installation and scenography, with a sculptural installation; Giulio De Gennaro (JUL), presenting the painting Mammografia del senno; and Caterina Vitellozzi, with two mosaic-sculptures, Take the First Step and Cosmic Dance. The event will also include a series of performative interventions by artist Marcello Del Prato.

Just a few steps from the place where Beatrice Cenci was executed on 11 September 1599, her story returns to life through theatre and visual art. More than four centuries later, the same places become a space for public reflection on violence against women, oppression and the right to self-determination.

With this initiative, THE FLOOR brings La pelle della luce to a close by transforming the finissage into a moment of participation and awareness: a way of affirming, through art, that fragility is not weakness, and that women’s bodies and freedom can never be treated as territories of possession.
