Francesco Biondo Presents In the Womb, of a Deep Blue
The work will be exhibited at the 1st International Biennial of Contemporary Art Dentro il Blu (Inside the Blue)
From July 1 to 5, 2026, Francesco Biondo will participate in the inaugural edition of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art Dentro il Blu (Inside the Blue), hosted by STUDIO 5 PROGETTO CREATIVO – Art Galleryin Lago Patria, Naples, with his work In the Womb, of a Deep Blue.
Entirely dedicated to the color blue as a territory of artistic and symbolic inquiry, the Biennial brings together artists from diverse creative backgrounds, invited to engage with one of the most symbolically charged colors in the history of art. Within this context, Biondo's work offers a meditation on origin, memory, and the generative dimension of life.
In In the Womb, of a Deep Blue, blue is not merely a chromatic element but becomes an inner space—a place of transformation and birth. Poised between abstraction and evocative figuration, the composition suggests an immersion into the depths of being: a symbolic womb in which the painted matter preserves the mystery of origins and invites the viewer into a state of contemplation and introspection.
Francesco Biondo's artistic practice has long been distinguished by a painterly language in which material becomes the medium of memory. His works explore civic, anthropological, and existential themes, bringing the pictorial gesture into dialogue with reflections on the human condition. In this work as well, color assumes a narrative and poetic function, becoming an emotional experience before it is a visual one.
Participation in Dentro il Blu marks another significant stage in Biondo's coherent artistic journey, in which color becomes a vehicle for universal meanings and an opportunity for dialogue with the public.
Curated by Doriana Vriale, the Biennial will feature more than eighty Italian and international artists and will conclude on July 5, 2026, with the Closing Ceremony and the presentation of the Critics' Awards, conferred by Mino Iorio, Valeriano Venneri, and Maurizio Vitiello.
Francesco Biondo
Visual artist Francesco Biondo develops a practice that intertwines materiality, memory, and civic engagement. Through painting, assemblage, and mixed media, he creates works in which the surface becomes a site where time, personal experience, and collective history are layered and preserved. His artistic production combines poetic intensity with critical reflection, placing at its core the relationship between humanity, nature, and memory.
