THREADS OF PASSAGES
Giulia Ripandelli
Solo Exhibition
Curated by Antonio E.M. Giordano
June 12 – July 8, 2026
Palazzo G.A. Sforza, Proceno (VT), Italy
Transformation, change, the illusion of the immutability of form, its corruption and fluidity are the themes explored by Giulia Ripandelli in the exhibition Threads of Passages. Time alters living beings and transforms them. Events bring about change, and the course of life reshapes human existence.
As the gateway to Lazio along the Via Francigena, Proceno is a geographical place of passage, hospitality, and transformation.
Embarking on a physical journey also means undertaking a new path within one’s own intimate geography. Nature, places, and encounters intertwine into patterns to be welcomed day by day into one’s inner fabric. Passages through real places merge with the landscapes of the soul.
The works and installations presented by the artist at Palazzo Sforza create a journey in which forms and geometries break apart, giving way to chaos and opening passages through which one may glimpse and imagine other worlds.
The installation at the center of the hall, a metaphor for the journey itself, creates a sequence of stations and stages where something is left behind (or offered) and something is gathered, allowing one to set out again each time with a different and richer baggage.
The path of every human being is a thread woven into the fabric of History, itself spun by Destiny. The ancients attributed this to the Moirai or the Parcae; Christianity to Divine Providence. Goethe famously stated that “Chance is the faithful servant of Destiny.”
