The solo exhibition “Does your heart still sing?” by MIIICKEY MADU invites the audience on an intimate exploration of emotional stillness and the quiet rhythms that define our daily lives. Through a pictorial research that transforms the mundane into the sacred, the artist investigates those moments that often escape our gaze—rest, preparation, and gathering—revealing them as spaces dense with feelings lingering just beneath the surface.
The body of work on display inhabits the subtle tension between solitude and connection. The figures depicted by MIIICKEY often share the same physical environment, yet remain immersed in their own inner worlds, as guardians of memories, longings, or a discreet and private joy. This dynamic is visible in works such as “Meet(ing) Life” and “Are we listening to each other?”, where the act of meeting and listening becomes a reflection on our ability to relate to others without losing our profound essence.
The artist places a particular emphasis on the rituals of living. Simple, everyday gestures, such as sharing a nourishing meal or taking a brief pause, are elevated to moments of deep emotional and spiritual weight. In canvases like “Omí Iye (Living Water): Flow & Resilience” and “Inner Rhythm”, MIIICKEY explores human resilience and consciousness, suggesting that true freedom lies in feeling everything deeply, moving beyond the limitations of the mind to find an unshakable inner security.
The exhibition path also touches upon themes of vulnerability and introspection, with works such as “Ori” (Consciousness), “Ego”, and “The First and Last Breathe”, which invite the viewer to confront their own fragility. MIIICKEY’s art is born from an innocent curiosity that is not afraid to move through pain, grief, and confusion to arrive at an authentic joy.
At the heart of the exhibition lies an open question, as personal as it is universal: in the midst of routine, distance, or change—does your heart still sing?
We invite you to discover this “art of living” and to let yourself be carried away by the inner rhythm of these works from June 13 to 18, 2026.
