The PAB Gallery – Punto Arte Benandante is a micro-space dedicated to contemporary art, located in the heart of Portogruaro, on the ground floor of the ANMIG building at Via Molini 1. It directly overlooks the Galleria Comunale d'Arte Contemporanea Ai Molini and presents itself as a true "point": small in size, but brimming with visions, ideas, and connections.
The name "PAB" is a play on measure and meaning: it is the point where artistic paths meet, exchange, and renew themselves. It is a place of convergence and departure, of creative exchange, located along the banks of the Lemene, a river that has historically been the city's vital conduit for material and symbolic exchanges.
Founded in November 2014 on the initiative of the Porto dei Benandanti Cultural Association, the PAB Gallery has hosted 160 exhibitions until April 2025. This significant milestone was achieved thanks to the original format—an exhibition every two weeks—which has generated a constant flow of diverse proposals, visions, techniques, and poetics.
The invited artists hail primarily from Northern and Central Italy, with significant connections to Southern and Central Europe, particularly Slovenia and the Czech Republic. The networks that have developed around the Porto dei Benandanti have nurtured a human and cultural heritage that has made the PAB a hub for contemporary artistic research.
Each exhibition is accompanied by a collateral event, often poetic, sometimes musical, or performative, offering the public an immersive experience where art and words meet. Each exhibition is also introduced by a critic or art expert, emphasizing the desire to build a conscious dialogue between works, artists, and visitors.
The PAB Gallery is not just an exhibition space, but a laboratory for relationships: the closeness between the public and the artist, ease of access, and the quality of the cultural offering are the elements that define its identity.
