Giorgio De Cesario (1956) lives and works in Gallipoli, in Salento. After his Realist studies, he became interested in Eastern thought, which would have a significant influence on his artistic career. His early work, in the 1990s,
found him engaged in installations and the intersection of visual arts (architecture, graphics, photography, music, performance, video), as well as painting and sculpture, with an openness to diverse artistic languages that characterizes his entire career. He gained international attention with his participation in various exhibitions, both group and solo, around the world thanks to his innovative technique, which involves the use of clay to shape the faces of his characters—diaphanous figures surrounded by a polychromatic universe.
