Fortunato Orazio Signorello was born in Catania in 1967. He is a publisher, art critic, writer, and cultural promoter. He is the editorial director of the publishing house Kritios Edizioni. He edits contemporary art and poetry series. He is the author of essays and numerous art monographs. He has curated numerous art exhibitions and collaborates with regional and national newspapers. He served on the Scientific Committee of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Florence. In 2006, the Benevento-based cultural association "Proposta" (established, among others, by the renowned artist Mimmo Paladino, a leading figure in the Transavanguardia movement, an artistic movement theorized and promoted in 1980 by the renowned art critic Achille Bonito Oliva) included him among the critics who recommended artists to be invited to the third edition of the "Mario Razzano" Prize. In 1991, he was named, along with the historian Santi Correnti, "Sicilian of the Year.
